Leave No Trace is a nationally recognized outdoor skills and ethics awareness program that teaches us how to treat the environment. The seven principles are guidelines to follow at all times and are an awareness of, and attitude toward the land, rather than a set of rules.
Leave No Trace is increasingly becoming an integral part of the Scouting program and is a vital component of the BSA Outdoor Ethics.
Participants receive education in Leave No Trace skills and ethics in an intensive five-day course on how to practice and teach Leave No Trace skills and ethics. Graduates receive a diploma and are qualified to teach two-day Leave No Trace Trainer courses.
